SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed several items of news pertaining to The Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square.
Chief among them is the fact that Music & The Spoken Word live broadcasts will reconvene September 19 at 9:30 am MDT.
Furthermore, effective Monday July 19, The Tabernacle Choir will commence daily organ recitals at the Tabernacle on Temple Square (Mondays-Saturdays, 12:00 pm MDT/MST; Sundays, 2:00 pm MDT/MST).
A new tradition recurs as well: Piping Up! Organ Concerts At Temple Square, will continue to stream Wednesdays at 12:00 pm on the Tabernacle Choir’s YouTube and Facebook pages as well as tabernaclechoir.org and broadcasts.churchofjesuschrist.org.
Beyond this, The Tabernacle Choir will reconvene live rehearsals at the end of August (August 26, every Thursday night thereafter) with The Bells at Temple Square reconvening their practices the next week (September 1, every Wednesday night thereafter).
These rehearsals and broadcasts are closed to the public until the second week in October.
The Tabernacle Choir remains hopeful a live Christmas concert will occur in December 2021.
Arrangements are still pending for this event. If all goes well, this will be determined at a future date.
July 15, The Tabernacle Choir celebrates its 92nd anniversary of weekly broadcats. The first such broadcast occurred July 15, 1929.
