OKLAHOMA CITY-Keibert Ruiz belted a grand slam and Matt Davidson added another home run in a productive 6th Inning as the Oklahoma City Dodgers bested the Salt Lake Bees 11-8 Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Ruiz also homered in the 1st Inning to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.
In the 4th and 6th Innings, the Bees scored a net 6 runs, taking a 6-4 lead headed to the bottom of the 6th Inning. This was accentuated by RBI from Jake Gatewood (4th Inning double), Preston Palmeiro (4th Inning triple) and Francisco Arcia (6th Inning single).
After the Dodgers built an 11-6 lead en route to the 7th Inning, Matt Thaiss had an 8th Inning RBI single and Gatewood added a 9th Inning RBI single but the Bees’ comeback efforts fell short.
Logan Salow earned the win on the mound for Oklahoma City in his first appearance for the Dodgers on the season.
Oklahoma City improved to 27-22 with the win and the Bees fell to 22-26. The Bees and Dodgers meet again at Oklahoma City Friday at 6:05 pm MDT.
MLB Partner League
OGDEN, Utah-Jake Goldfarb and Jack Johnson each homered and the Ogden Raptors bested the Idaho Falls Chukars 13-8 Thursday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play.
The Raptors improved to 23-12 on the season while ending the Chukars’ 12-game winning streak.
Nico Tellache earned the win on the mound for the Raptors.
Webb Little and Brady West went yard in defeat for the Chukars, who fell to 24-11 with the loss.
Ogden and Idaho Falls meet again Friday at 7:00 pm at Lindquist Field.
