Triple A-West

SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Jaylin Davis homered and Darin Ruf, Joey Bart, Jason Krizan and Arismendy Alcantara all had RBI in a productive 5th Inning as the Sacramento River Cats bested Salt Lake 9-5 Sunday at Sutter Health Park in Triple A-West play.

Alex Dickerson got the River Cats going in the 1st Inning with an RBI single for a 1-0 lead.

Davis’ 2nd Inning homer gave Sacramento a 2-0 lead while Alcantara’s RBI ground bunt in the 4th put the River Cats up 3-0.

Darin Ruf added an RBI double for Sacramento in the bottom of the 6th Inning, increasing the River Cats’ lead to 9-1.

The Bees made a run in the 7th Inning as Matt Thais had an RBI double, Preston Palmeiro scored on a fielding error and Jose Rojas had an RBI single.

However, 9-5 was as close as Salt Lake could come as the Bees fell to 17-22 on the season.

Anthony Banda earned the win on the mound for the River Cats, as he improved to 3-1 on the season. Sacramento improved to 16-23 with the win.

The Bees and River Cats meet again Monday evening at Sutter Health Park for an 8:05 pm MDT opening pitch.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Niko Pacheco homered and the Ogden Raptors routed Boise 14-6 Sunday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play. Tate Budnick earned the win on the mound for the Raptors, who improved to 20-6 on the season with the win. Hidekel Gonzalez posted 3 RBI in defeat for the Hawks, who fell to 8-18 in the loss. The Raptors and Hawks meet again Monday at 7:00 pm at Lindquist Field.
