Triple A-West

SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Jake Gatewood belted a 2-run homer and the Salt Lake Bees waxed Sacramento 9-4 Thursday in Triple A-West play at Sutter Health Park.

Anthony Bemboom, Preston Palmeiro and Jo Adell added RBI doubles for the Bees, who improved to 16-20 with the win.

Matt Thiass also stepped up with a RBI double for Salt Lake while Felix Pena improved to 3-1 on the mound for the Bees this season by getting the win.

Joe McCarthy homered and added an RBI double in defeat for the River Cats, who fell to 14-22.

The Bees and River Cats meet again Friday at Sutter Health Park for an 8:05 pm MDT opening pitch.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Dean Nevarez homered as the Missoula Paddleheads drilled Ogden 10-1 Thursday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play.

Jose Reyes added 4 RBI for Missoula and Kevin Hilton earned the win on the mound for the Paddleheads, who improved to 19-4 with the win. Jakob Goldfarb posted an RBI in defeat for the Raptors, who fell to 18-5. The Paddleheads and Raptors meet again at Lindquist Field Friday at 7:00 pm.
