Pocatello Temple To Be Dedicated November 7

SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed its temple at Pocatello, Idaho is to be dedicated November 7.

This will occur in three sessions with Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles presiding over the services.

The sessions will occur at 9:00 am, 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

An open house at the Pocatello Temple will occur from September 18-October 23 with the exception of Sundays during this span and during the Church’s General Conference (October 2-3).

There will be a youth devotional Saturday November 6 prior to the dedication. The dedicatory sessions and youth devotional will be broadcast to all congregations in the Pocatello temple district.

Upon its dedication, this will be Idaho’s sixth operating temple.

Other Idahoan temples are located in Boise (1984; re-dedication, 2012), Idaho Falls (1945; re-dedication, 2017), Meridian (2017), Rexburg (2008) and Twin Falls (2008).

November 7 is also the birthday of the late Apostle Richard G. Scott who was in the Quorum of Twelve Apostles from 1988-2015.

He lived in Pocatello until he was five years old.
