Evacuations ordered For Pack Creek Fire Near Moab

MOAB, Utah (AP) — A wildfire sparked by an abandoned campfire is forcing evacuations south of Moab.

The evacuations are mandatory for all private property on the east side of Geyser Pass in San Juan County, KTVX  reported. They were ordered after the fire called the fire breached a road.

Four primary buildings and six secondary structures have been destroyed in the Pack Creek area and five primary structures were damaged by the 8-square-mile (20-square-kilometer) blaze.

The fire is burning through grass, brush and timber. The terrain is rugged, with steep canyons and basins.
