Triple A-West

SALT LAKE CITY-Leody Taveras homered and added an RBI single as the Round Rock Express sent the Salt Lake Bees to their fifth-straight loss, prevailing 8-6 Monday afternoon at Smith’s Ballpark in Triple A-West play.

Eli White added an insurance home run in the 7th Inning on a solo shot for the Express, who improved to 15-8 on the season with the win.

Collin Wiles earned the win on the mound for the Express, as he improved to 2-0 on the young season.

Jake Gatewood homered in defeat for the Bees. This home run proved significant as it is the 3,800th all-time home run in team annals.

The loss dropped Salt Lake to 9-14 on the season.

The Express and Bees conclude the series Tuesday evening at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

Pioneer League

GREAT FALLS, Mont.-Owen Taylor homered and amassed 8 RBI overall as the Ogden Raptors decimated the Great Falls Voyagers 31-11 Monday at Centene Stadium. The Raptors exploded for 15 runs in the 4th Inning and eight more in the 9th Inning while posting 29 hits on the afternoon.

The 8-1 Raptors also feasted on seven Voyagers errors in the rout.

Caine Agis earned the win for Ogden on the mound.

Michael Deeb homered in defeat for the Voyagers, who fell to 0-9 on the season.

Deeb’s 3 RBI led Great Falls in that statistic on the afternoon.

The Raptors are off Tuesday before returning to Lindqiust Field for a six-game series against the Grand Junction Rockies.
