SANDY, Utah-Taylor Dummar found the net and Wasatch scored the game-winning goal on a Skyline own goal set up by Gabe Manning’s defense as the Wasps doubled up the Eagles 2-1 Friday at Rio Tinto Stadium, clinching the school’s first boys soccer title since 2013 in the 5-A state title game.
This was the Wasps’ third all-time state title in boys soccer as they previously won in 2011 as well as the aforementioned 2013 state title.
Wasatch head coach Jared Hendry led the Wasps to an 18-2 (.900) record on the season. Wasatch had the targets on their backs as the No. 1 overall seed in 5-A as confirmed by the Utah High School Activities Association and successfully completed their title run.
