5-A Quarterfinals @ Spanish Fork Softball Complex

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Mychaela McClanahan posted three RBI and Tasha Hokanson drove in the winning run as the Mountain Ridge Sentinels outlasted Wasatch 5-4 Tuesday in the 5-A state softball quarterfinals at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Maclee McPhie posted two RBI in defeat for the Wasps, with Kendyl Purdy and Andrea Sweat also driving in runs for Wasatch. The Wasps now move to the consolation bracket where they will face No. 6 seed Farmington Wednesday at 10:30 am as they seek to keep their season alive.

5-A Championship Bracket @ Spanish Fork Softball Complex

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Charly Cluff hit a walk-off home run and the Wasatch Wasps overcame a 2-0 7th Inning deficit to down the Farmington Phoenix 3-2 Tuesday in the 5-A softball championship bracket at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

Andrea Sweat earned the win in the circle for the Wasps, posting six strikeouts in seven innings of work as she went the distance.

Wasatch next faces Mountain Ridge Tuesday at 5:00 pm in the championship bracket at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Payge Armendariz also drove in a run for the Wasps.

Boys Soccer

5-A State Semifinals @ Herriman H.S.

HERRIMAN, Utah-Edgar Garcia scored the game-winner in overtime as the Wasatch Wasps outlasted Maple Mountain 2-1 in the 5-A state boys soccer semifinals at Herriman High School Tuesday. Carter Davis also found the net for the Wasps in victory. Wasatch next faces Skyline for the 5-A state soccer title Friday at 4:00 pm at Rio Tinto Stadium.
