5-A Baseball Third Round

HOLLADAY, Utah-Ashton Johnson posted 3 RBI and the Olympus Titans pounded Wasatch 10-4 Thursday in the third round of this best-of-three 5-A baseball playoffs series at Olympus High School. Payton Swapp, Cole Cloward and Jackson Bolender each had an RBI apiece in defeat for the Wasps. To continue their season past Friday at 3:30 pm for Game 2’s opening pitch, the Wasps, by virtue of trailing 1-0, need a win to force a Game 3 Friday at 5:30 pm.

5-A Softball Third Round

HEBER CITY, Utah-Andrea Sweat and Lexi Beveridge each homered and the Wasatch Wasps bludgeoned Maple Mounain 14-4 in this best of three 5-A softball playoff series at Wasatch High School Thursday. Beveridge and Makaylin Sulser had 4 RBI apiece for the Wasps, who will face the Golden Eagles Friday at 3:30 pm. If the Wasps win this game, they advance to the championship rounds at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex May 25. Payge Armendariz earned the win in the circle for Wasatch. Jettlee Ioane had 2 RBI in defeat for Maple Mountain.
