Bees Achieve Second Win of Season By Downing Tacoma Friday

SALT LAKE CITY-Jo Adell and Anthony Bemboom each homered as the Salt Lake Bees bested Tacoma 6-4 Friday at Smith’s Ballpark in Triple A-West baseball action.

The Rainiers built a 2-0 lead in the 1st Inning as Dillon Thomas hit a ground-rule double, with Eric Filia and Cal Raleigh each touching the plate for Tacoma on the hit.

Following Adell and Bemboom’s homers, Adell scored on a wild pitch from Aaron Fletcher in the bottom of the 5th Inning. This increased Salt Lake’s lead to 5-2.

The Rainiers kept things close in the 6th Inning as Jack Reinheimer posted a 2-run RBI single to make it a 5-4 ballgame.

In the bottom of the 7th Inning, Matt Thaiss put the game away on an RBI triple, scoring Adell.

Austin Warren earned the win for Salt Lake in his first appearance of the season. The Bees improved to 2-6 on the season with the win while Tacoma slumped to 4-4.

The Bees and Rainiers meet again at Smith’s Ballpark Saturday for a 6:35 pm opening pitch.
