SALT LAKE CITY-Juniel Querecuto belted a game-changing 4th Inning grand slam as the Reno Aces improved to 3-0 on the season by downing the Salt Lake Bees 6-5 Sunday at Smith’s Ballpark in Triple A-West play.
As the Bees fell to 0-3, they made history in the wrong way.
The Bees have dropped the first three games of the season by one run each. This marks the first time in the 27 year history of the franchise that they’ve started 0-3. There has been only one other season with an 0-2 start (2010).

The Bees’ loss came as they forfeited a 4-0 advantage. This was set up by a 3-run homer from Scott Schebler and an RBI double from Jake Gatewood.
In the 6th Inning, the Aces received insurance RBI from Jamie Ritchie on a double and a triple from Ben DeLuzio to increase their lead to 6-4.
In the bottom of the 6th Inning, Kean Wong posted an RBI single to pull Salt Lake to within 6-5 but the Bees could draw no closer.
Tyler Gilbert took the win on the mound for the Aces with Joe Mantiply securing the save for Reno.
The Aces and Bees meet again at Smith’s Ballpark Sunday at 1:05 pm.
