PAYSON, Utah-Garrett Staufer’s 3 RBI led the way and the Wasatch Wasps overpowered Payson 11-5 in Region 8 baseball action Thursday. Scott Mahoney, Jackson Bolender and Cannon Bay added 2 more RBI apiece in victory for the Wasps. Jarinn Kalama took the win on the mound for the Wasps. Braxton Monroe homered in defeat for the Lions.

Softball

Region 8

HEBER CITY, Utah-Maclee McPhie went yard and the Wasatch Wasps pummeled Provo 11-0 Thursday in Region 8 softball play. Makaylin Sulser added 2 more RBI for the Wasps while Andrea Sweat, Maizy Snow and Brylee Bigelow also drove in runs for Wasatch. Sweat also earned the win in the circle for the Wasps.

Boys Soccer

Region 8

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Seth Krommenhoek and Eric Tietjen each scored and the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles blanked Wasatch 2-0 in Region 8 boys soccer action Thursday. Isaac Northcutt posted the shutout for Maple Mountain.
