TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Tuesday, groundbreaking information for the Tallahassee Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was released.
Presiding at this event will be Elder James B. Martino, the North America Southeast Area president of the Church.
This temple, which will serve the Floridian capital city, was announced in April 2020 by Church President Russell M. Nelson at the Salt Lake City-based faith’s semiannual general conference.
The temple will be constructed on approximately 29,000 square feet on a 4.97-acre site in Tallahassee.
Per the latest available statistics, 160,266 Floridians are Latter-day Saints, or 1 in 31 of the net population in the state.
There are 33 stakes statewide and temples in Florida have already been dedicated in Orlando (1994) and Fort Lauderdale (2014).
