WASATCH COUNTY, Utah-Sunday evening, a crash occurred in Wasatch County because of a semi-truck, hauling a load of oranges, flipping over and spilling diesel fuel on U.S. 189.
Per a statement from Wasatch County Fire, a tractor reefer trailer carrying a freight of oranges, rolled over near mile marker 21.5 on northbound U.S. 189, seven miles south of Heber City.
Upon arrival, officials discovered diesel fuel leaking from the truck’s saddle tanks.
Fire personnel were able to swiftly mitigate the leak from the diesel tanks while other personnel provided traffic control and spill containment.
The driver of the truck and his passenger were successfully able to exit the truck via the driver’s door.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo by Wasatch Fire-EMS officials.
The truck was later unloaded with the oranges taken off by heavy tow trucks.
Utah Highway Patrol is presently investigating the scene to further determine the cause of the accident.
