Cedar City High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Monday, students and staff at Cedar City High School were evacuated because of a bomb threat called into the school.

Authorities confirmed a 911 call was received around 2:00 pm concerning a potential bomb threat.

This immediately placed the school under a Level 2 lockdown as Iron County law enforcement personnel began evacuating the building.

A bomb-sniffing K-9 officer and the St. George bomb squad were called in after the discovery of a suspicious bag during a search of the school.

Presently, the bomb squad is assessing the threat and there is an ongoing investigation.

Police said there are no threats to the public at this time.
