OGDEN, Utah-Thursday, an Ogden City Police officer was killed in a shooting, authorities confirmed.
At 12:14 pm, officers responded to the 300 block of Jackson Avenue where an officer-involved shooting had been reported to have occurred, per Ogden Police Lt. Brian Eynon.
As of 2:15 pm, police said there was no threat to the public and they were no longer looking for anyone in connection with the incident, Eynon confirmed.
Furthermore, he did not provide any details concerning what led up to the incident or if anyone was injured.
The incident occurred at the intersection near Jackson Avenue and Harrop Street, police confirmed on Facebook.
Jackson Avenue will be closed between 2nd Avenue and Harrop Street for up to 24 hours, Eynon stated.
People living in the area have been asked to go back to their homes.
This loss is the first police officer killed in Utah since Provo officer Joseph Shinners was killed in January 2019.
