SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, Utah Symphony/Utah Opera confirmed it has extended its performance cancellations through May 23.

This has been done as a precaution because of COVID-19 spread concerns.

This announcement also comes after Salt Lake County Arts and Culture had announced performing art venues would be closed through May 15.

Utah Symphony/Utah Opera began canceling events as of March 12.

Following this announcement, more than 24 shows have been canceled. Officials said they are hoping to reschedule some of these shows later in the season.
