Latter-Day Saint Charities Helps With Medical/Emergency Supply Deliveries To Nations In Need

SALT LAKE CITY-Latter-Day Saint Charities, the humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is keeping busy at its canneries and food processing plants avid the COVID-19 crisis.

At this same time, they are donating medical and emergency supplies to 16 countries.

This has been done to help people in need amid reports that jobless claims in the United States rose 33 percent from last week.

Iran, Italy and China are among the nations receiving medical and emergency supplies, per the statement.

Iran’s aid is being administered via a partnership with San Francisco-based Moms Against Poverty. This is licensed by the U.S. government to provide humanitarian aid to a nation currently under U.S. sanctions.

The nations to which Latter-Day Saint Charities are sending these supplies are Cambodia, China, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Italy, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam.
