HEBER CITY, Utah-This past weekend, the Wasatch Dance Company excelled at the New York City Dance Alliance, obtaining numerous honors.
Some of the highlights include the class act studio award, a first-place finish in the teen overall hip-hop.
The overall group for “Our Machine” placed third.
In the senior soloists category, Elle Taylor placed eighth, Thea Bodensteiner placed 11th and Julia Kelson finished 13th.
In the teen soloists category, Maddie Edwards placed 7th and Saige Kemp finished 12th.
For the mini-soloists, the overall award winners category saw Lillian Moulton place 4th. Harper Scott finished 6th, Ava Willis placed 8th and Audrey Edwards placed 12th.
The duo/trio overall winners were Ellie and Sophie Clawson who placed third.
In the junior soloists category, Brynlee Edwards placed fourth and Stella Mills finished fifth.
Region convention scholarships were won by Gracie Kemp, Liv Pettinger, Lilly Emmett and Elle Kelson in ballet.
Tap convention scholarships were achieved by Abi Chappell and Julia Kelson.
Earning summer/winter intensive acceptance honors was Cat Russell and Triple Threat Award winners included Brynlee Watkins and Jessy Licona.
Earning the steps on Broadway $500 scholarship were Stella Mills, Brynlee Edwards and Tayler Newman.
Earning the Steps summer study scholarship was Abi Chappell.
Achieving the Perry Dance $500 scholarship was Ellie Russell.
In the Outstanding Dance scholarship category, mini-runners up included Ava Willis, Sophie Clawson, Lillian Moulton, Harper Scott, Audrey Edwards and Elle Clawson.
The junior Outstanding Dance winner was Brayden Phillips and Braylee Edwards, Mylee Mahoney and Avery North were the junior runners-up.
Finally, the teen runners-up were Maddie Edwards, Saige Kemp and Brynlee Watkins.
