Desert Hills Tournament

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Noah Turley posted 17 strikeouts and came through with a key insurance RBI double in the 6th Inning as the Wasatch Wasps earned their first win of the season with a 5-4 win over Hunter Friday at Desert Hills High School.

Parker Quinton added an RBI triple in the 6th Inning with Quinton and Turley’s contributions proving instrumental in helping the Wasps withstand a late Wolverines’ surge in the top of the 7th.

Wasatch will play two more games Saturday. The Wasps will play Salem Hills at 1:15 Saturday so tune into hebervalleyradio.com and 94.5 the Peak around 1:00 pm for coverage of the game with John Moss.

Dixie High Spring Showdown

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Paige Richens, Andrea Sweat and Paige Armindarez each had an RBI as the Wasatch Wasps outlasted Oaks Christian (Calif.) 3-2 Friday at the Dixie High Spring Showdown at Dixie High School. Riley Arnold earned the win in the circle for the Wasps, netting four strikeouts in five innings of work. Madison Rainone had both RBI in the loss for the Lions.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Riley Arnold and Charly Cluff had 2 RBI apiece and the Wasatch Wasps bested the Syracuse Titans 4-3 at Dixie High School Friday at the Dixie High Spring Showdown. Andrea Sweat was the Wasps’ heroine in the circle in the win, posting 11 strikeouts in six innings of work.
