HEBER CITY, Utah-Britton Maxwell led the way with 19 points and Lance Gehring added 18 more as the Wasatch Wasps bested Park City 73-64 Thursday in Region 8 boys basketball action. The Wasps improved to 8-10 and 6-5 in Region 8 play with the win. Maxwell’s five successive 3-pointers in the 3rd Quarter gave the Wasps a lead they would not relinquish. Mark McCurdy’s 17 points led the Miners in defeat. Head coach James Ballstaedt’s squad is next in action Saturday at 7:00 pm at Maple Mountain High School. Region 8

HEBER CITY, Utah-Ashlee Wood and Aspyn Neumann had 14 points apiece and the Wasatch Wasps pounded Park City 41-17 in Region 8 girls basketball action Thursday. Ava Kimche and Caroline Cook had 6 points apiece in the loss for the Miners. The Wasps improved to 9-11 and 5-6 in Region 8 play. Head coach Norm Hayter’s squad returns to action Saturday at 5:15 pm at Maple Mountain.
