Wasatch Swimming Defends Regional Titles Saturday

HEBER CITY, Utah-Saturday, Wasatch High School’s boys and girls swimming teams each successfully defended their regional titles at the Wasatch Aquatic Center.

The boys netted 438 points with Springville placing second (330 points) and Park City (327.5 points) finishing third.

The Wasps’ girls squad posted 496 points with Park City placing second (416 points) and Maple Mountain finishing third (255 points).

The girls were led by senior star Haley Altman, who set a new all-time Utah state record in the 100 breaststroke, posting a time of 1:02.09.

The Wasps will compete at the 5-A state swimming championships February 14 and 15 at the BYU swimming pool in the Richards Building on campus in Provo.
