ST. GEORGE, Utah-Monday, Utah Tech University athletics announced the hiring of Matt Brooks as the new sports information coordinator for Trailblazers sports.

Brooks comes to St. George from Western Illinois University where he served the past two years as a graduate assistant in the Leathernecks’ athletics communications department.

While at Macomb, Ill., Brooks was the primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s basketball and softball.

Brooks also served as the Leathernecks’ secondary football contact and as the men’s basketball sports information director during the 2021-22 season.

Brooks, a native of Oregon City, Ore., is a 2021 graduate of Oregon State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication.
