SALT LAKE CITY-Kevin Padlo recorded a 2-RBI single and the Salt Lake Bees won their third straight game, and fifth in their last six contests, in downing the Tacoma Rainiers 7-3 Friday at Smith’s Ballpark.
Jake Kalish netted nine strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees. Kalish improved to 2-3 on the season for Salt Lake.
Pat Valaika had an RBI double in the loss for the Rainiers.
The Bees improved to 14-17 on the season while Tacoma fell to 15-15.
With a win Saturday or Sunday, the Bees would win their first six-game series of the season as they currently lead this series against the Rainiers: 3-1.
The Bees started the season with a series win against Sacramento taking 2 of 3 against the River Cats.
The Saturday game in this series is slated for 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
