EL PASO, Texas-Tim Lopes homered and the El Paso Chihuahuas edged Salt Lake 6-5 Friday at Southwest University Park in Pacific Coast League play.

Drew Carlton earned the win on the mound for the Chihuahuas as he improved to 1-0 on the season.

Kevin Padlo drove in three runs for the Bees in defeat. This was Salt Lake’s 12th loss in their last 13 games as they fell to 9-16.

The Chihuahuas, who have clinched the series win against the Bees, improved to 11-14 with the win.

The Bees and Chihuahuas meet again Saturday at 6:35 pm at Southwest University Park.
