CEDAR CITY, Utah-Tuesday night, Southern Utah University officially named Rob Jeter as the Thunderbirds’ new head men’s basketball coach.
Jeter comes to Cedar City from Western Illinois University where he served as the Leathernecks’ head coach for the past three seasons.
Prior to his time at Western Illinois, Jeter was the head coach of the Milwaukee Panthers of the Horizon League for 11 seasons.
As a Division I head coach, Jeter is 223-215 (.509).
Jeter has also served as an assistant at Wisconsin, Minnesota and UNLV during his coaching career.
As a collegian, Jeter starred at NCAA Division III Wisconsin-Platteville, leading the Pioneers to the Division III national championship in 1991.
Jeter will officially be announced as the Thunderbirds’ head coach Thursday at 11:00 am at the Sharwan Smith Student Center ballroom on the SUU campus.
