SALT LAKE CITY-Friday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the NBA teamed up to help feed the hungry.
Representatives of each organization gathered in several places in Salt Lake City to alleviate food insecurity and provide essential items to help those in need throughout northern and central Utah.
These projects are part of the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service 2023 activities.
Volunteers sorted out and packed food donations to distribute to low-income students and families.
NBA All-Stars themselves assisted in the process before they play in the annual NBA All-Star game Sunday at Vivint Arena in downtown Salt Lake City.
The NBA All-Stars and Church representatives filled hundreds of boxes with food, toothbrushes, shampoo and more inside the 13-acre storehouse owned and operated by the Salt Lake City-based faith.
