CEDAR CITY, Utah-Wednesday, Southern Utah University, following a national search, named Doug Knuth as its new athletic director.

Knuth, who will begin his labors in January, has nearly 30 years of intercollegiate athletic department experience, including nine years as a Division I athletic director.

Knuth was most recently at the University of Nevada, where he served as the Wolf Pack’s director of athletics.

Prior to his time at Reno, Knuth served as the senior associate athletic director at the University of Utah.

Knuth also has previous experience working in the athletics departments at Michigan State.

Knuth is a graduate of Northwood University of Midland, Mich., the University of Ohio and the University of Connecticut.
