DENVER-Monday, Utah Valley sophomore center Aziz Bandaogo was named the WAC men’s basketball player of the week.

Bandaogo, a sophomore transfer from Akron and a native of Dakar, Senegal, averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, a block and a steal in the Wolverines’ wins at BYU (75-60) Wednesday and Northern Arizona (80-75) Saturday.

Bandaogo is averaging 12.5 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Wolverines on the season.

Bandaogo and his UVU teammates return to action Tuesday by hosting the SAGU American Indian College Warriors of Phoenix at 6:00 pm at the UCCU Center.
