SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, Utah football star sophomore cornerback Clark Phillips was named to All-American teams for The Athletic/CBS Sports-247 Sports and Pro Football Focus.

Phillips, who has six interceptions, six pass breakups and two pick sixes this season, made the All-American first team for The Athletic and CBS Sports/247 Sports.

Phillips received honorable mention All-American status from PFF.

Phillips and his Utes teammates next play in the last scheduled bowl game of the season: the Rose Bowl January 2 at Pasadena, Calif. against the Penn State Nittany Lions.

This matchup commemorates the first time in history Utah and Penn State have met on the gridiron.
