Weber State Football Rises To No. 6 In AFCA Poll Abraham Williams Named Big Sky Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah-Monday, after last Saturday’s 45-21 win over Eastern Washington at Stewart Stadium, Weber State football rose to No. 6 in the AFCA FSC Coaches Poll.

Weber State (5-0, 2-0 in Big Sky Conference play) is one of four Big Sky schools to be ranked in the Top 6.

Others include Montana (No. 3), Montana State (No.4) and Sacramento State (No. 5).

In Saturday’s win over the Eagles, sophomore cornerback Abraham Williams returned a kickoff 100 yards for a score to earn Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Williams, a product of West High School of Salt Lake City, has two interceptions, a fumble return and five tackles for a loss on the season for the Wildcats.
