SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday evening, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints conducted its evening session of semiannual general conference at The Conference Center at Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City.
Conducting the session was President Dallin H. Oaks of The First Presidency of the Church.
The first speaker was Bishop Gerald Causse, the presiding Bishop of the Church.
Bishop Causse stressed the importance of enjoying nature and seeing God’s power manifest in His numerous creations during his remarks.
Bishop Causse encouraged his audience to be good stewards of the earth Father in Heaven has provided for us as He has commanded.
The next speaker was Sister Michelle D. Craig, the first counselor in the Young Women’s General Presidency of the Church.
She encouraged her listeners to always trust in the Lord when things get difficult in life. She also told her audience to always follow Christ’s example. She testified that she seeks to do the same in her own life.
The next speaker was Elder Kevin W. Pearson, a General Authority Seventy. He bore his testimony of the tremendous impact the Sacramental prayers have had upon him each Sunday. He exhorted his audience to pay less attention to the philosophies of men and care more about the truths conveyed by the Spirit.
Elder Pearson testified that “the companionship of the Holy Ghost is priceless.”
Elder Pearson warned that hatred and animosity against the Church will increase but the true and faithful will continue to lean upon the Master.
Elder Denelson Silva then spoke, confirming Father in Heaven will not leave us alone in our afflictions but shall shepherd us through our trials.
Elder Neil L. Andersen of The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles served as the concluding speaker for this session.
Elder Andersen testified that Pres. Nelson’s declarations of new temples to be constructed throughout the world cause the power of Father in Heaven to increase upon the earth.
