SALT LAKE CITY-Jake Gatewood and Chad Wallach each homered and the Salt Lake Bees doubled up Sacramento 12-6 Wednesday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League play.

Grant Dayton earned the win on the mound for the Bees as he improved to 1-0 on the season.

The Bees improved to 68-76 on the season, earning their third straight win in the series.

Yermin Mercedes and Ford Proctor homered in defeat for Sacramento. Mercedes also added an RBI double for the River Cats in the loss.

Sacramento fell to 62-80 on the season.

The Bees and River Cats return to action Thursday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
