PHILADELPHIA-Monday, BYU and Utah football each received a representative on the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list.
This award is annually presented to the best defensive player in FBS college football.
The Cougars are represented by junior linebacker Keenan Pili and the Utes’ representative is sophomore cornerback Clark Phillips III.
Last season, Pili posted 1.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss for the Cougars.
Phillips is coming off of a campaign which saw him post two interceptions (one pick six), 13 passes defensed and a forced fumble.
