CEDAR CITY, Utah-Wednesday, Southern Utah University defensive end Francis Bemiy has been named as one of the top 1,000 2003 NFL Draft prospects by the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Bemiy, a native of Montreal, led the Thunderbirds in sacks (4) and tackles for a loss (12.5) and earned third-team All-Big Sky honors last season.

His placement on the top 1,000 is significant as approximately 1,000 all-star game eligible players are drafted, signed after the NFL Draft or invited to a rookie minicamp annually.
