SALT LAKE CITY-Luis Liberato blew the game open with a 3rd Inning grand slam and the El Paso Chihuahuas doubled up the Salt Lake Bees 6-3 Monday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League play.
Kyle Tyler earned the win on the mound for the Chihuahuas, improving to 1-1 on the season.
Tyler posted two strikeouts in as many innings of work to record the win for El Paso.
David MacKinnon had an RBI single and Jo Adell homered in the loss for the Bees, as they fell to 27-22 on the season.
Symmetrically, the Chihuahuas improved to 27-22 on the season with the win. Since leaving Tucson and moving to El Paso, the Chihuahuas are now 36-14 (.720) all-time at Smith’s Ballpark with this victory.
The Bees and Chihuahuas will take off Tuesday and return to action Wednesday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
