WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Isan Diaz belted a three-run homer in the 2nd Inning and the Sacramento River Cats edged Salt Lake 3-2 Tuesday at Sutter Health Park as the Pacific Coast League foes commenced a six-game series.
Enmanuel De Jesus posted eight strikeouts in five innings of work for the River Cats to earn the win on the mound for Sacramento.
David MacKinnon homered and Jack Mayfield added an RBI single for the Bees in defeat.
The River Cats improved to 21-22 and the Bees fell to 23-20 in the loss.
Salt Lake and Sacramento meet again at Sutter Health Park Wednesday at 7:35 pm MDT as the series ensues.
