Southern Utah University Athletic Director Deb Corum Announces Retirement

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Per Monday news, Southern Utah University athletic director Deb Corum has announced her retirement after spending nearly 50 years in athletics.

This will go into effect June 30.

During her tenure, the Thunderbirds have won eight team conference championships and more than 60 individual conference championships.

As a collegian at Vanderbilt, Corum advocated for the Commodores to field a women’s basketball program.

Corum has also been honored by the National Association of Collegiate Women’s Athletic Administrators and has served on the NACWAA Board of Directors.

She has also served as the associate athletic director at LSU and as the associate commissioner of the SEC.

During her tenure, she has also increased the graduation rate among SUU athletes by 33 percent.
