5A Second Round Playoffs

HEBER CITY, Utah-Gilberto Vargas and Soren Nielson each scored and the No. 3 Wasatch Wasps blanked No. 14 Orem 2-0 Tuesday in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs at Wright-Tree Stadium. Jackson Medina recorded the shutout for the Wasps. Wasatch next hosts No. 6 Skyline Friday at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals at Wright-Tree Stadium.

SALT LAKE CITY-Ryan Wiscomb, Logan Sorensen, Kyler Madsen and Spencer Clayton each scored and the No. 6 Skyline Eagles blanked No. 22 Cottonwood 4-0 in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Tuesday.

MURRAY, Utah-Wyatt Nielsen scored and the No. 13 Salem Hills Skyhawks outlasted No. 4 Murray 5-3 on penalty kicks Tuesday in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs. Salem Hills next faces No. 5 Lehi Friday at 4:00 pm in the 5A state quarterfinals.

LEHI, Utah-Alfred Vargas, Nathan Shepherd, Cesar Morales and Christian Jones each scored and the No. 5 Lehi Pioneers dismantled No. 12 Northridge 4-2 in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Tuesday.

OREM, Utah-Wyatt Barry amassed a hat trick and the No. 9 Stansbury Stallions upset No. 8 Timpanogos 3-2 Tuesday in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs. The Stallions will visit No. 1 Provo in the 5A state quarterfinals Friday at 4:00 pm.

PROVO, Utah-Carlos Rodriguez and Juan Escobar each scored as the No. 1 Provo Bulldogs doubled up No. 32 Bountiful 2-1 in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Tuesday.

SANDY, Utah-Faris Kurdi’s hat trick led the way and the No. 2 Alta Hawks waxed No. 18 Bonneville 4-1 in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Tuesday. Carter Bell also scored for Alta in the victory. The Hawks next face No. 10 Brighton Friday at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.

HOLLADAY, Utah-Kaden Wilson, Elias Fairbourn and Justin Fahrenkrog each scored and the No. 10 Brighton Bengals upset No. 7 Olympus 3-2 Tuesday in the second round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs.

5A Playoffs 1st Round

HEBER CITY, Utah-Cole Lent posted five goals and the No. 11 Wasatch Wasps downed the No. 22 Highland Rams 14-3 at Wright-Tree Stadium Tuesday in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs. Wasatch next visits No. 6 Timpview Thursday at 12:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

PROVO, Utah-The No. 6 Timpview Thunderbirds downed No. 27 Mountain View 14-1 in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs Tuesday.

OREM, Utah-Landon Buttars posted four goals and the No. 17 Salem Hills Skyhawks downed No. 16 Lehi 11-10 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs. Jeff Lewis had 6 goals for the Tigers in defeat. The Skyhawks next visit No. 1 Olympus Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-The No. 13 Spanish Fork Dons walloped No. 20 Cedar Valley 15-4 in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs Tuesday. The Dons next visit No. 4 Alta Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

LAYTON, Utah-The No. 12 Northridge Knights stonewalled No. 21 Timpanogos 18-3 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs. Andrew Tate’s eight goals paced Northridge. The Knights next visit No. 5 Skyline Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

LEHI, Utah-The No. 14 Lehi Pioneers waxed No. 19 Bonneville 12-9 in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs Tuesday. Lehi next visits No. 3 Bountiful Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SALT LAKE CITY-Lo Tafisi amassed five goals and the No. 7 East Leopards pummeled No. 26 Springville 21-3 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs. East next hosts No. 10 Brighton Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah-Donovan Wismer stepped up with three goals and the No. 10 Brighton Eagles pounded No. 23 Provo 18-2 in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs Tuesday.

WOODS CROSS, Utah-The No. 18 Box Elder Bees upset No. 15 Woods Cross 14-8 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs. Box Elder next visits No. 2 Park City Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-The No. 8 Viewmont Vikings stonewalled No. 25 Jordan 11-5 in the first round of the 5A boys lacrosse playoffs Tuesday. Abe Salmon’s hat trick led the Vikings in victory. Viewmont next hosts No. 9 Maple Mountain Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Porter Kraft posted five goals and the No. 9 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles drilled No. 24 Payson 15-5 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A state boys lacrosse playoffs.

PROVO, Utah-Mele Folaumahina posted a shutout and the No. 13 Provo Bulldogs blanked No. 20 East 22-0 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs. The Bulldogs next visit No. 4 Wasatch Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Semily Stewart scored four goals and the No. 12 Bountiful Redhawks smacked No. 21 Cedar Valley 13-6 in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs Tuesday. The Redhawks next visit No. 5 Jordan Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-The No. 11 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles pounded No. 22 Mountain View 14-0 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs. The Golden Eagles next visit No. 6 Payson Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SALT LAKE CITY-The No. 14 Highland Rams routed No. 19 Viewmont 18-5 in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs Tuesday. The Rams next visit No. 3 Olympus Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

OREM, Utah-Amanda McDonald’s five goals led the way and the No. 15 Timpanogos Timberwolves waxed No. 18 Timpview 15-7 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs. The Timberwolves next draw No. 2 Brighton in the second round of the state playoffs Thursday at 4:00 pm.

SALT LAKE CITY-The No. 10 Skyline Eagles stonewalled No. 23 Salem Hills 16-5 in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs Tuesday. The Eagles next visit No. 7 Alta Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SANDY, Utah-Mylie Johnson posted four goals and the No. 7 Alta Hawks decimated No. 26 Orem 32-2 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs.

SPRINGVILLE, Utah-The No. 16 Springville Red Devils edged No. 17 Box Elder 10-7 in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs Tuesday. Olivia Ottley’s four goals led Springville in victory. The Red Devils next visit No. 1 Park City Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

LEHI, Utah-Karli Fielder netted five goals and the No. 9 Lehi Pioneers blanked No. 24 Bonneville 16-0 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A girls lacrosse playoffs. The Pioneers next visit No. 8 Woods Cross Thursday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
