OGDEN, Utah-Monday, Weber State head men’s basketball coach Randy Rahe announced his retirement.
Rahe had led the Wildcats’ program since 2006 and led Weber State to a record of 316-191 (.623), five Big Sky Conference championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances in that span.
Rahe also coached point guard Damian Lillard, a current star with the Portland Trail Blazers, helping him to achieve All-American status in 2012.
Rahe coached college basketball for more than 35 years. He served as an assistant at NCAA Division II Colorado College, Colorado, Denver, Colorado State, Utah State and Utah before coming to Weber State.
Rahe’s longtime assistant coach, Eric Duft, will now serve as the Wildcats’ head coach.
Duft has been with the Wildcats’ program since 2006.
A native of Sterling, Kan., Duft spent 10 years coaching various junior colleges in Kansas before joining Rahe with the Wildcats.
