5A First Round

HEBER CITY, Utah-Jackson Bolender put the game away with a three-RBI double in the fifth inning and the Wasatch Wasps blanked Tooele 10-0 in the first round of the 5A baseball playoffs Saturday at Wasatch High School. Jack Bluth, Cole Zimmerman and Carter Bucad also had key RBI for the Wasps in the victory.

Wasatch seeks to close out this best-of-three regional against the Buffaloes with a win Monday at 1:00 pm. This game will air on 94.5 The Peak and on hebervalleyradio.com.

OREM, Utah-Sawyer Slade homered and the No. 9 Orem Tigers bested No. 24 Box Elder 7-4 to win the first game in the best-of-three regionals series Saturday. Luke Kimmel earned the win on the mound for Orem.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Carson Webster, TJ Dahlke, and Drew Beck drove in two runs apiece and the No. 10 Bountiful Redhawks stormed past No. 23 Stansbury 10-0 Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three regional series. Truman Duryea earned the win on the mound for Bountiful.

MURRAY, Utah-Corbin Bailey and Bennett Averett each drove in a run and the No. 22 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles upset No. 11 Murray 2-1 in the first game of the best-of-three regional series Saturday. Chase Johnston earned the win on the mound for Maple Mountain.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Naulivou Lauaki homered and the No. 19 Springville Red Devils bested No. 14 Viewmont 9-3 Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three regional series. Lauaki also earned the win on the mound for Springville.

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah-The No. 15 Brighton Bengals bested No. 18 Payson 10-5 in the best-of-three regional series Saturday.

SALT LAKE CITY-The No. 17 Uintah Eagles upset No. 16 Skyline 5-4 in the first game of the best-of-three regional series Saturday.

OREM, Utah-Kelci Gingras and Alexis Adams drove in a pair of runs apiece and the No. 9 Timpanogos Timberwolves waxed the No. 25 Woods Cross Wildcats 7-4 Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three regional series. Emily Hicken earned the win in the circle for the Timberwolves.

STANSBURY PARK, Utah-Kaycee Thornock drove in a pair of runs and the No. 10 Stansbury Stallions dismantled No. 23 Timpview 6-1 Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three regional series. Tiara Jones earned the win in the circle for the Stallions.

BRIGHAM CITY, Utah-The No. 11 Box Elder Bees pounded No. 22 Alta 12-2 in the first game of the best-of-three regional series Saturday.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah-Mindy Ward posted seven RBI and the No. 12 Cedar Valley Aviators routed No. 21 Skyline 18-3 Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three regional series. Mikayla Bowling earned the win in the circle for the Aviators.

OREM, Utah-The No. 20 Tooele Buffaloes upset No. 13 Orem 4-2 in the first game of the best-of-three regional series Saturday.

SALT LAKE CITY-Charlie Turner drove in a run and the No. 14 East Leopards downed No. 19 Northridge 3-2 Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three regional series. Turner also earned the win in the circle for the Leopards.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-The No. 15 Viewmont Vikings dismantled No. 18 Maple Mountain 17-7 in the first game of the best-of-three regional series Saturday. Lily Wright homered in victory for the Vikings. Grace Nielson earned the win in the circle for Viewmont.

MURRAY, Utah-Cambry Partridge drove in three runs and the No. 17 Payson Lions pounded No. 16 Murray 18-2 Saturday in the first game of the best-of-three regional series. Kaily Gull earned the win in the circle for the Lions.

Boys Soccer

5A Playoffs 1st Round

OREM, Utah-Clate Bergeson amassed a hat trick and the No. 14 Orem Tigers downed No. 19 Viewmont 4-2 Saturday in the first round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs. The Tigers next visit No. 3 Wasatch Tuesday at 4:00 pm at Wasatch High School in the second round of the state playoffs.

SANDY, Utah-Jackson Wersland and Max Barlow each scored and the No. 32 Bountiful Redhawks upset No. 16 Jordan 2-0 in the first round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Saturday. Parker Hayford recorded the shutout for Bountiful. The Redhawks next face No. 1 Provo Tuesday at 4:00 pm at Provo High School in the second round of the state playoffs.

STANSBURY PARK, Utah-The No. 9 Stansbury Stallions blanked No. 25 Tooele 1-0 Saturday in the first round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs. Wyatt Barry scored the sole goal of the game for the Stallions. Devun Collins earned the shutout for Stansbury. The Stallions next visit No. 8 Timpanogos Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

SALEM, Utah-The No. 13 Salem Hills Skyhawks bested No. 20 Box Elder 2-1 in the first round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Saturday. Lane Lindstrom and Jackson George each scored for the Skyhawks in victory. Salem Hills next visits No. 4 Murray in the second round of the state playoffs Tuesday at 4:00 pm.

LAYTON, Utah-The No. 12 Northridge Knights blanked No. 21 Woods Cross 1-0 Saturday in the first round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs. Aryan Soorma scored the sole goal for the Knights in victory. Matthew Ramirez recorded the shutout for Northridge. The Knights next visit No. 5 Lehi Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

MIDVALE, Utah-The No. 22 Cottonwood Colts upset No. 11 Hillcrest 2-1 in the first round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Saturday. The Colts next visit No. 6 Skyline Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

PARK CITY, Utah-The No. 18 Bonneville Lakers blanked No. 15 Park City 1-0 Saturday in the first round of the 5A boys soccer playoffs Saturday. The Lakers next visit No. 2 Alta Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

Kaden Wilson and Justin Fahrenkrog each scored for the Bengals in victory. Zac Simpson posted the shutout for Brighton in the win. The Bengals next visit No. 7 Olympus in the second round of the state playoffs Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
