State Board Of Education Seeks Funds For School Safety

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah State Board of Education says it needs funds to make schools statewide safe. Chair Matt Hyams told lawmakers Friday that they are asking for half-a-million dollars to pay for security upgrades. His appearance comes as legislatures are looking at increasing education funding.
