5A State Finals Series @ UVU
OREM, Utah-Jackie Sorenson and Trigg Cloward drove in two runs apiece and the No. 20 Spanish Fork Dons achieved the 5A state championship with a 7-4 win over Brighton in Game 3 of the 5A Finals Series Saturday evening at UCCU Ballpark. Matai Johnson netted four strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Dons. River Schmidt drove in two runs in the loss for the Bengals. The Dons have now won nine state titles in baseball in school history. Spanish Fork has state championships in baseball in 1988, 1992, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015, 2021 and 2025.
OREM, Utah-Pratt Morley drove in two runs and the No. 20 Spanish Fork Dons forced a de facto 5A state championship game with a 7-3 win over Brighton Saturday at UCCU Ballpark in the 5A Finals Series. Morley recorded three strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Dons. Easton Fry drove in two runs in the loss for the Bengals. Game 3 in the 5A Finals Series occurred shortly after the conclusion of this game for the 5A State Championship.
