PROVO, Utah-Cy Chrisman belted a grand slam and the No. 1 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles pounded No. 9 Viewmont 10-0 in 5A bracket play Monday at Miller Park on the campus of Brigham Young University. Chase Johnston netted 13 strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Maple Mountain. The Golden Eagles next play Tuesday at 7:00 pm against No. 20 Spanish Fork. Viewmont next plays Tuesday at 11:00 am against No. 5 Cyprus.
PROVO, Utah-Trigg Cloward drove in two runs and the No. 20 Spanish Fork Dons overpowered No. 5 Cyprus 7-3 Monday night at Miller Park. Sammy Dart netted nine strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Spanish Fork. Cody Densley drove in two runs in the loss for the Pirates.
Bracket 2
PROVO, Utah-JC Garza and River Schmidt drove in three runs apiece and the No. 2 Brighton Bengals smoked No. 7 Olympus 10-0 Monday in 5A bracket play at Miller Park. Josh Mawhinney netted eight strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bengals. Brighton next faces No 6 Orem at 4:30 pm Tuesday. Olympus next draws No. 19 Salem Hills Tuesday at 11:00 am in the one-loss bracket.
PROVO, Utah-Tayden Kaawa’s two run home run in the bottom of the 7th lifted the No. 6 Orem Tigers to an 11-9 win over No. 19 Salem Hills in 5A bracket play at Miller Park Monday. Jaxtin Johnson also homered in victory for Orem. Cole Engemann netted three strikeouts in 2.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Orem. Bracken Lindley drove in four runs in the loss for the Skyhawks.

5A State Semifinals @ Zions Bank Stadium
HERRIMAN, Utah-Dekker Runyan, Bode Heelis and Jayden Cosper each scored and The No. 4 Wasatch Wasps upset No. 1 East 3-1 Monday in the 5A state boys soccer semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium. Ángel Mendoza scored in defeat for the Leopards. Wasatch next faces No. 2 Alta Thursday at 4:00 pm for the 5A state boys soccer championship at America First Field of Sandy.
HERRIMAN, Utah-Tanner Kunz scored twice and the No. 2 Alta Hawks blanked No. 3 Bountiful 4-0 in the 5A state boys soccer semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium Friday. Chase Radford recorded the shutout in the net for the Hawks.
