HEBER CITY, Utah-Will Harris beat the buzzer with a clutch 8-footer and the Wasatch boys basketball team earned their first win of the season, upsetting No. 5 in Class 5-A Farmington 69-67 Thursday at the Nest in non-region boys basketball action.
Ben Sanders led the way with 29 points for the Wasps, who improved to 1-5 on the season. Colin Hughes earned sub of the game honors from Heber Valley Radio broadcasters Ty & Ty with 8 points off the bench. These consisted of a pair of clutch 3-pointers and two key free throws down the stretch to upset the Phoenix, who fell to 4-2 on the season.
In postgame comments, Wasatch head coach James Ballstaedt mentioned he was proud of his squad and that the Wasps are now turning their focus to the Mountain Crest Mustangs, whom the Wasps visit at Hyrum, Utah December 18.

MESQUITE, Nev.-Brinley Cornell’s 19 points led the way as Kanab downed Wasatch 46-31 at the Bulldog Invitational at Virgin Valley High School. Mandy Belnap had 13 points in the loss for the Wasps as they fell to 3-3 on the season.
