DENVER-Monday, Utah Valley sophomore forward Carter Welling was named the WAC Newcomer of the Week.
Welling scored 17 points and posted 9 rebounds in the Wolverines’ 70-68 win at Southern Utah Saturday.
Welling, a former Corner Canyon High School star out of Draper, Utah, is averaging 12.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season for Utah Valley.
Welling and his UVU teammates return to action Thursday at Utah Tech.
