Utah’s Spencer Fano Named Polynesian Player of The Year

HONOLULU-Tuesday, Utah junior offensive lineman Spencer Fano was named as the 2025 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year.

Fano, a Samoan, was the 12th all-time recipient of this award which honors the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry who epitomizes great ability and integrity.

The former Timpview High School star out of Spanish Fork, Utah also won the Outland Trophy, annually bestowed upon the top collegiate interior offensive lineman, for helping the Utes average 40.9 points per game. This ranked them sixth nationally.

The durable Fano also started all 12 regular season games at right tackle for the Utes.

Fano and his Utah teammates conclude the season December 31 in the Las Vegas Bowl against Nebraska at Allegiant Stadium of Las Vegas.
