Utah’s Berkeley Oblad Named To All-Pac-12 Preseason Volleyball Team

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, the Pac-12 released its all preseason women’s volleyball team and conference prediction poll with the Utah Utes figuring greatly in both.

Berkeley Oblad, a 6-4 senior middle blocker out of Henderson, Nev., was named to the all-conference preseason squad after amassing 300 kills and 142 blocks last season.

Last season, Oblad earned honorable mention American Volleyball Coaches Association honors, AVCA all-region honors and honorable mention Pac-12 all-conference honors.

The Pac-12 is one of the toughest women’s volleyball conferences in Division I as the Utes are #19 in the nation in the AVCA poll, but are slated to finish eighth in their own conference.

Top-ranked Stanford is the favorite to win the Pac-12, as the Cardinal amassed 11 first-place votes Wednesday.

The Utes have returned seven letter-winners from last season’s squad, as well as four starters and their libero.
