Monday, Utah Tech redshirt freshman tailback Asa Chatman was named as the United Athletic Conference’s Freshman of the Week for his contributions to the Trailblazers’ 20-9 win over Northern Iowa last Saturday.
Chatman ran for 97 yards on 12 carries (8.1 yards per carry) including a 66-yard scoring run in the win over the Panthers.
Chatman is currently averaging 5.4 yards per carry this season.
Saturday, Chatman and his Utah Tech teammates open the UAC season at Clarksville, Tenn. against nationally-ranked Austin Peay.
